Don Teel Curtis
Don Teel Curtis’ music is something like long lost recordings from the board on an open mic night, or possibly standing between two bands sound checking. Many of the songs are likely to have multi-tracked guitars and vocals and some have been written for his mothers on mothers’ day.
Born in Texas to two mothers and a gentleman rancher, Curtis spent much of his childhood coping with insomnia and refusing to go to church or play baseball. One of his mothers taught him to play guitar at an early age, and he honed his skills performing covers of Melissa Etheridge, 4 Non Blondes, and Corona at the local gay bar, Sassy’s.
